There will be a special staged reading of the new play, "Enemy Of The Good" by John Henry Davis this coming Monday, November 22nd at 7:00 pm at Theatre For The New City, 115 First Avenue (between 9th & 10th street). The company includes Yetta Gottesman *, Dan Renkin *, Anna Stromberg, Joseph Sullivan *, and Liam Torres * with Joel Bauer* (Reader of stage directions); Mike Alifanz * & Dustin Cross * (Stage Managers); Tamar Mackay (Assistant Director); Winston Smith (Sound Operator), and Dan Dolan (Sound and Music consultant). Fellow Americans, join us as we explore political ethics, personal values, and self-doubt in the first public reading of this unusual new play. There will be Free wine and cheese following the performance with the company. A $5 admission will be charged for the reading.

John Henry Davis is a playwright and director of theatre, film, and television in New York and across the country. He has directed at Playwrights Horizons, Mark Taper Forum, Kennedy Center, and Dallas Theatre Center, working with writers and composers such as Beth Henley, Tom Babe, Neal Bell, Ossie Davis, and Jason Robert Brown. In television and film, he has directed Oz (HBO), The Sarah Jones Show (Bravo), and was director of the award winning feature film Ordinary Sinner. Recently, he directed the new opera The Golden Gate for the Rose Studio in Lincoln Center, as well as Babes in Toyland at Avery Fisher Hall and Hamlet for the Hudson Guild. Mr. Davis also directed the premiere productions of the plays Papa and Mountain, both starring Len Cariou for tour and Off-Broadway and Daughters at the Westside Arts. For many years, he has directed and developed new musicals for Theatreworks USA, including the long running Lion Witch and the Wardrobe. As a playwright, he has recently written two new plays, Enemy of the Good and With the Sound Off. He is a professor at LaGuardia Community College.
