THE ENCHANTED PIG Plays its final performance on 2/21 at The New Victory Theater.
In this off-beat and funny fairytale of musical entertainment, beauty meets the beast once again when Princess Flora, the youngest of three gangly, gum-chewing sisters, learns her betrothed is a boar. Swept off to the north, she discovers (of course!) that her hoggy hubby is hexed and only she can break the spell. Follow Flora from palace to pigsty in this twisty tale of mud and marriage. Sometimes, a girl's just gotta go out and rescue the prince for herself!Mr. Dove, Mr. Middleton and Mr. Fulljames are three esteemed U.K. artists who have successfully introduced opera to young audiences - a challenging proposition. In a December 11 London Times article describing Mr. Dove as "the wizard of contemporary children's opera," he said, "Children need to feel an entitlement in the opera house, and if that means creating rep that is more welcoming, that can only be a good thing."Member tickets cost $24.50 (orchestra), $17.50 (mezzanine) and $8.75 (balcony). Tickets for non-Members cost $35 (orchestra), $25 (mezzanine) and $12.50 (balcony).
