Told from the viewpoint of the iconic cinema director actor Orson Welles, THE PASSION OF ED WOOD focuses on Hollywood shlock director Ed Wood, posthumously awarded "The Worst Movie Director of All Time" for "Glenn or Glenda," "Plan Nine from Outer Space," "Jail Bait" and "Orgy of the Dead" to name a few. The new musical focuses on the director's decision to hire Bela Lugosi, famous for his film portrayal of Dracula at the end of Lugosi's career.

The creative team of the new musical includes book & lyricsby Justin Warner, music by Rob Kendt and is directed by Jonathan Warman with Musical Direction by Jody Schurm. The new work is being developed at the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and was selected by BMI for its Master Class program.

The cast of the new musical features: Raymond Bokhour (B'way's "Mr. Cellophane" in CHICAGO) as Orson Welles; Lance Rubin (THE OPPOSITE OF SEX, William Finn's RIDICULOUSLY TALENTED...) as Ed Wood; Dewey Caddell (Irish Rep's NEW GIRL IN TOWN, TAKE ME ALONG) as Paul Marco; Sydney Harris (KINGDOM OF EARTH, THE LOVER (Soho Playhouse) as Dolores Fuller; Jeff Ward (Howard DaSilva in INTERVENTION! ECHO & NARCISSUS, Players NYC) as TOR JOHNSON; Megan Stern (PRIDE & PREJUDICE-NYMF, LONDON MERCHANT- NYC's Storm Theatre) as Lillian Lugosi and Drew Eshelman (B'way: LES MIZ, SOUND OF MUSIC 1st National w/Richard Chamberlain) as Bela Lugosi.

The Passion of Ed Wood deals with adult themes....hilariously. The presentation will be at The Jerry Orbach Theater, Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th, West of B'way on Thursday, January 10, at 6:00PM. Single Admission: $18.00. Running time aprox 90 minutes.
