Hunger & Thirst Theatre, with The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project, is thrilled to present PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST, written by William Shakespeare and conceived & directed by Jordan Reeves. PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST begins performances on Thursday, November 2 for a limited engagement through Saturday, November 18. Press Opening isSunday, November 5 at 2 PM. The performance schedule is Thursday at 7 PM; Friday & Saturday at 8 PM; Sunday at 2 PM. There are added performances on Wednesday, November 15 at 7 PM andSaturday, November 18 at 2 PM. The personal storms encountered during a lifetime are often even more turbulent than the raging tempests sailors experience on the high seas.

PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST is an inventive 90-minute reimagining of William Shakespeare'sPericles that places the seafaring adventure within a fresh new context: Prince Pericles' adventures come to vivid life for a modern-day woman as she immerses herself in a book her recently deceased father gave her.

PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST retains Shakespeare's language but pares down the sprawling tale, distilling the rarely produced romance into a heartwarming story of the rejuvenating power of family.

The cast features Jordan Kaplan, Patricia Lynn, Kathryn Metzger, Jacques Roy, and Tom Schwans.

The design team includes Lynne Porter (set); Melissa Mizell (lighting); Lea Reeves (costume); Randall Benichak (sound); Matt Reeves (projection design); and David Reiser (original music).

Jordan Reeves (director) is a New York-based actor, director, and fight choreographer. He has directed productions all over the country including the stage adaptation of Arthur Phillips' critically acclaimed novelThe Tragedy of Arthur. Jordan is a Founding Member and the Artistic Director of the Guerrilla Shakespeare Project. Selected GSP directing credits: Julius Caesar, King John, Two Gentlemen of Verona. Jordan holds an MFA from Brown University/Trinity Rep.

Hunger & Thirst Theatre, founded in 2012, is dedicated to discovering exciting, new ways to perform the classics as well as producing contemporary works inspired by classic stories. By contemporizing these classic works, the overall theatrical experience becomes as emotionally resonant today as it was when the original piece was first performed.
