Off Broadway Alliance Announces New Mentorship Program

The Off Broadway Alliance announced its new mentorship program today. The program will provide fledgling theatre artists and producers with the chance to be mentored by established theatre professionals as they work on a project they propose for the program.

The deadline for applications is April 6. To be eligible to participate, applicants must propose a specific theatrical project and must be or become a Member or Associate Member of the OBA. Applications for the program and associate membership are available at offbroadwayalliance.com.

The Mentorship Program Selection Committee will review the applications and proposed projects and pair the successful applicants with one of the program's volunteers. Over 20 seasoned theatre professionals have agreed to act as mentors in the OBA Mentorship Program. These mentors include producers, general managers, theatre owners, managing and executive directors, plus public relations, marketing, and advertising professionals.

The OBA Mentorship Program is a project of The Broadway Alliance (OBA), a non-profit corporation organized by theater professionals dedicated to supporting, promoting and encouraging the production of Off Broadway theatre and to making live theatre increasingly accessible to new and diverse audiences. The Off Broadway Alliance sponsors 20at20, the event that runs twice a year for 20 days and lets theatergoers purchase $20 tickets to dozens of Off Broadway shows 20 minutes before curtain. The Alliance presents the annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards to the best new plays, musicals, revivals, and family shows of the season, and honoring the Legends of Off Broadway and members of the Off Broadway Hall of Fame. It also sponsors a free Seminar Series focusing on the culture, business and history of Off Broadway featuring major players from the Off Broadway scene. And the OBA created the Off Broadway Economic Impact Report, which details Off Broadway's over $500 million annual impact on the economy of the City of New York."

Must be an Associate or Full OBA member. - Must be working on a specific theatrical project to be considered.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 6, 2018 * interviews will take place in mid-April

LENGTH
- Minimum of 3 months
- 4 hours per month (12 hrs. total)
