'Next to Normal' Extends thru March 16 at Second Stage

Second Stage Theatre has announced a one week extension of the new musical Next to Normal, featuring Alice Ripley, Brian d'Arcy James, Adam Chanler-Berat, Jennifer Damiano, Asa Somers, and Aaron Tveit.  The musical, which was scheduled to close on Sunday, March 9, will now run through Sunday, March 16.

With music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and direction by two-time Tony nominee Michael Greif, Next to Normal officially opened on February 13, 2008 at Second Stage Theatre (307 West 43rd street. "How does an almost average family navigate today's over-stimulated and over-medicated world?  In this darkly funny and haunting new musical, one suburban household confronts its past and its future.  With provocative lyrics and an electrifying score, Next to Normal explores how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their world intact," describe press notes.
