New Play UNTIL DEATH DO US PART Announced as Part of the Venus Adonis Theater Festival

UNTIL DEATH DO US PART is a new play, which will debut on February 22 at the Hudson Guild Theater as part of the Venus Adonis Theater Festival. This dark comedy is written by Catherine Hurd, and directed by Valeria Cossu.

UNTIL DEATH DO US PART tells the story of Jean Williamson (Kathleen Alicia Kelly), whose husband, George (Richard Porter), suffers from dementia. As George's antics lead from crisis to crisis, Jean's daughters, Angela (Sarah Sirota) and Flo (Lauren Kennedy), encourage Jean to put George in a home, where he can be better cared for. But, Jean insists on staying with George "Until death do us part." To further complicate matters, an old flame, Harry Holmes (Robert Hickey), former detective, and now successful crime novelist, comes to town for a book tour and tries to rekindle his romance with Jean. Things get complicated when ex-con, Earl (Michael Wikes), whom Harry put away twenty-seven years ago, is released from prison. Earl stalks Harry, and becomes convinced that Harry and Jean are trying to murder George.

Playwright Catherine Hurd has won several screenwriting awards, and is the book writer/lyricist for the award winning musical, Zuccotti Park, which debuted in the 2015 Venus Adonis Theater Festival.

Valeria Cossu is an international Director/Choreographer Awarded Best Director at the Thespis Theater Festival 2015 for the musical Discovering Magenta. She's joined by creative team featuring Alexandra Tenenbaum (Production Stage Manager), Yaya Zeevi (Projection/Scenic Design), Patrick Bakalli (Lighting Design), and Taylor Garcia (Production Assistant).
