Emmy Award winner Kristen Johnston ("Third Rock from the Sun"), now starring in Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere production of Scarcity, will be interviewed on The American Theatre Wing's radio program "Downstage Center" on XM Radio's "On Broadway" Chanel 28 beginning Friday, October 12 at 6PM (EST).

The one-hour interview will re-air throughout the weekend on Saturday, October 13 at 12PM, Sunday, October 14 at 7PM and Tuesday, October 16 at 9PM (Pacific) and 12PM midnight (EST). "Downstage Center" is a co-production of XM Satellite Radio and The American Theatre Wing, hosted by John von Soosten and American Theatre Wing Executive Director Howard Sherman.

Two time Emmy Award winner and Atlantic Company Member Kristen Johnston is best known to television audiences for playing 'Sally Soloman' on the hit NBC series "3rd Rock from the Sun" for all six seasons. She returns to Atlantic, where she has also appeared in The Lights (Drama Desk Award nomination), Rosemary for Remembrance and Five Very Live. She has appeared on the Broadway stage in The Women (Roundabout) and also in Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and The Skin of Our Teeth for the Public Theater's New York Shakespeare Festival.

Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere production of Lucy Thurber's play Scarcity, directed by Jackson Gay began previews August 29, officially opened September 20 and has been extended through Sunday, October 21, 2007 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company at The Linda Gross Theater. (336 West 20th Street).

Scarcity also stars Atlantic Company members Maggie Kiley (the film We Own the Night) and Todd Weeks (Broadway's Full Monty) and guest artists Meredith Brandt, Brandon Espinoza (Broadway's Big, Gypsy),  Susan Finch (Chaucer in Rome) and Michael T. Weiss (NBC's "The Pretender," the feature film Jeffrey).

"Set in rural western Massachusetts, Scarcity tells the tale of two siblings whose aspirations to escape the confines of poverty and small town life come into direct conflict with their sense of family responsibility. When sixteen-year-old Billy is afforded an opportunity to change schools and move out of town by an unusually attentive young teacher, his family starts to unravel around him. In this raw, emotionally rich world premiere new drama from playwright Lucy Thurber explores the stark reality of how class in America shapes our very image of ourselves," explain press notes.

Scarcity plays Tuesday through Friday at 8PM, Saturday at 2PM & 8PM and Sundays at 3PM.

Atlantic Theater Company Main Stage at the Linda Gross Theater is located at 336 West 20th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues).  Tickets for main stage productions are $55 and available by calling Ticket Central at 212-279-4200 (ticketcentral.com). Visit www.atlantictheater.org
