Kerrigan & Lowdermilk's THE MAD ONES to Kick Off Prospect Theater Residency at 59E59

59E59 Theaters has announced that Prospect Theater Company will join 59E59 in a residency that will premiere one new musical a year, over three years, in Theater A at the Off Broadway complex.

The residency kicks off in Fall 2017 with the world premiere of a new musical, THE MAD ONES, by Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (Henry and Mudge) and directed by Stephen Brackett (Buyer & Seller).

Featuring break-out hit songs "Run Away with Me" and "Say the Word", THE MAD ONES immerses audiences in the complex inner life of Samantha Brown-a young woman on the brink of change. Sitting in her parent's driveway, Samantha faces a choice: will she follow in her mother's footsteps, or take the dare of her impetuous best friend and chart a new path?

"Over the years, Prospect has produced five new musicals with us, all enthusiastically received by our members," said 59E59 President/Founding Artistic Director Elysabeth Kleinhans. "We are thrilled to help them embark on even more ambitious musical projects by offering them a larger space to produce while making it cost-effective for them to do so. This is exactly what 59E59 Theaters was built to do for non-profit theaters."

"This residency is a natural extension of the strong relationship we have built with 59E59 Theaters over the past decade," said Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director of Prospect. "We are grateful to have the opportunity to grow, reaching new and expanded audiences. Our annual productions at 59E59 will anchor a diverse array of year-round activities developing and producing new work by emerging artists."

THE MAD ONES will run from November 7 - December 17. Additional details about the production will be announced at a later date.

Tickets to THE MAD ONES go on sale to the general public on April 18, with an exclusive pre-sale for 59E59 Members beginning on April 11. Tickets are available by calling Ticket Central at 212-279-4200 or online at www.59e59.org.
