'Jewel Thieves' Inaugural TSP Production, Opens 9/24

The newly created TSP Artists' Platform is proud to announce the New York premiere of Norman Beim's Jewel Thieves, a comedy mystery that previews September 19 and opens September 24 at The Turtle's Shell Theater.

"Reminiscent of the great screwball film comedies of the 1930s, Jewel Thieves adds a clever note of suspense to the laugh-inducing plot twists that are brought to rich life by Beim's extremely witty dialogue," state press notes, "A mysterious stranger is invited into the elegant country home of aging film legend Gloria Desmond, where he encounters a lovely young countess and a substitute butler.  But is anyone really who they claim to be, especially when their names are Alfred, Lynne and Harold Busby? Or is it Busby Harold?  The intrigue builds as their attention focuses on Gloria's precious jewel, the legendary Mandarin necklace."

Jewel Thieves is written and directed by Norman Beim, produced by John W. Cooper, with scenic design by Ryan Scott, costumes by Christina Giannini, lighting by Lisa Weinshrott & Michael L. Kimmer.  The cast features Davis Hall, Marnie Klar, Gerrianne Raphael and Adam Raynen.

Beim's plays have been produced nationally and internationally, including a recent New York production of Fritz & Froyim and his comedy-drama, Success, ran for more than a year in The Netherlands and has been optioned for a film. The TSP Artists' Platform provides playwrights with a safe haven to develop their work in partnership with a team of experienced designers and theater professionals in their home at The Turtle's Shell Theater. Artists are carefully selected and nurtured with an eye towards forging an ongoing creative collaboration. Jewel Thieves is the first play to be produced under the TSP Artists' Platform.

Previews are September 19 & 20 at 8PM; opening September 24 at 7PM with performances through October 7.  Show times are Mondays at 7PM; Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8PM; and special 3PM matinees on September 29 and October 6 & 7.
