Guacamolink Performing Arts, a Hispanic theater company returns to the Manhattan stage with an original work written and directed by Peruvian playwright Walter Ventosilla, inspired by Sophocles' Greek tragedy "Oedipus Rex". "Oedipus" is the first of its kind as Emely Grisanty enacts all roles in this 75-minute tour de force.

Ventosilla has over forty years of theatrical experience in his home country of Peru, in Europe and the U.S. He has collaborated with Guacamolink Performing Arts as director and dramaturge for the last three years, during which time he has developed a proprietary method for training actors. Graduates have gone on to receive awards and accolades such as the NY Latin ACE Award and ATI for their work in Latino Theater in New York City.

Dominican actress Emely Grisanty was recently honored with the ATI 2014 Award for Best Actress in Independent Theatre in New York. Previously she was nominated as a Best Actress in the Monologues category.

"Oedipus" will be performed on July 20th, 27th, August 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, at 7pm at the 777 Theater (Off Broadway) located at 777 8th Ave, corner of 47th St. and 8th Ave., in famed Hell's Kitchen. The first four dates will be performed in Spanish, and the last two dates in English. Tickets are $30, and can be purchased online at www.guacamolink.com.
