Grove Stars in New Musical CLUB MOROCCO at The Encore Musical Theatre Company 6/3 to 6/20
The Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter, Michigan will present the Michigan Premiere of the Original Swing Music Musical CLUB MOROCCO by Jon Huffman and Barbara F. Cullen with musical arrangements by Ashton Wolf.
The action takes place in a ‘40's-style club - An oasis of smooth in a jagged town of broken dreams...where the swing is red-hot, the beauty dangerous, and the luck as fleeting as the love.
Artistic Director and Co-Founder of The Encore Musical Theatre, Broadway's Dan Cooney says, "This is a fantastic opportunity for The Encore, producing its first new musical, as it features some of the greatest songs of all time such as Stormy Weather; One For My Baby; I've Got You Under My Skin and Kalamazoo to name a good few, boasting a fresh look at the film noir genre as conceived by Jon Huffman and Barbara F. Cullen."
The musical stars Jessica Grové (Broadway's Sunday in the Park with George, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Les Misérables) as Nugget Realto, along with Barbara Coven, Paul Kerr, Tony Owens, Tim Henning and Steve DeBruyne.
The show also features a cast of some of the most talented hoofers in Michigan:
Clare Eisentrout, Sebastian Gerstener, Nathan Magyar, Cara Manor, Evan Williams, Sarah Zuccaro.
Barbara F. Cullen directs and choreographs, Tyler Driscoll leads the Swing Street All-Stars as musical director. Set and lighting design by Dan Walker, sound by Dan Fowler, costumes by Colleen Meyer.
