Television veteran George McDaniel will join the cast of Perfect Crime, the longest-running play in the history of New York theater, on Friday, February 26, 2010. He assumes the role of Lionel McAuley and replaces Dale Hensley, who will be joining the cast of Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles.
McDaniel's career on television spans five decades and includes roles on some of the most iconic series of all time, including Hill Street Blues, Little House on the Prairie, Three's Company, Dallas, Knight Rider, The Dukes of Hazzard, Cagney & Lacey, Mama's Family, Magnum, P.I., Saved By The Bell, ER and The West Wing. His film credits include Lionheart, This Is Spinal Tap, Ole and The Last Starfighter.On Broadway, McDaniel appeared in Big River (Special Ensemble Tony Honor) and Off Broadway in Biography at The Pearl. Other legit credits include the U.S. premiere of Ragtime, Going Down Swinging (NYMF Best Ensemble) and national tours of White Christmas, Annie Get Your Gun, Showboat and Big River. Regional credits include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Shout Up A Morning (La Jolla Playhouse), Putting It Together, Bandido and Big River (CTG/Mark Taper Forum), My Fair Lady (Actors Theatre and Cleveland Playhouse), Othello (Pioneer Theatre Company) and Copenhagen (Northern Stage).
