By:

An exclusive single ticket presale to 59E59 Members for the shows THE ORIGINALIST and Hershey Felder AS Irving Berlin, both part of 59E59's subscription season, begins today, Tuesday, April 24, at Noon. Single tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, May 30.

Four-time Helen Hayes Award winner Edward Gero returns to his "lively performance" (Washington Post) as controversial Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, when Washington, DC's acclaimed Arena Stage brings THE ORIGINALIST to 59E59 Theaters. When a bright, liberal, Harvard Law School graduate embarks on a nerve-wracking clerkship with the conservative Justice, she discovers him to be both an infuriating sparring partner and an unexpected mentor. How will their relationship affect one of the most incendiary cases ever to reach the nation's highest court?

Called "a timely, almost revolutionary work" by The Economist, THE ORIGINALIST is written by John Strand and directed by Molly Smith. It is produced by by Arena Stage in collaboration with Middle Finger Productions and runs from July 14 - August 19.

Jerome Kern famously said, "Irving Berlin has no place in American music-he is American music." George Gershwin called him "the greatest songwriter that has ever lived." From Tin Pan Alley to Broadway to The Silver Screen, and from the pop charts to the steps of the nation's capital, Berlin's music provided America with the soundtrack of a century. Hershey Felder AS Irving Berlin brings the man behind the iconic music to life in an evening reflecting his remarkable journey from child immigrant to America's most beloved and prolific songwriter featuring some of the composer's most popular and enduring songs including "Alexander's Ragtime Band," "Always," "Blue Skies," "God Bless America," "Puttin' on the Ritz," "There's No Business Like Show Business," and "White Christmas."

Hershey Felder AS Irving Berlin is written by Hershey Felder and directed by Trevor Hay. Produced by The Town Hall in association with Hershey Felder Presents, it runs from August 24 - October 28.

Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). The Member ticket price is $49, which is 30% off the regular ticket price of $70. Members can call the exclusive, no-fee 59E59 member line on 646-892-7999 or visit www.59e59.org to purchase their tickets.
