Just in time for All Hallows' Eve, the world premiere of playwright Sarah Lawrence's ESCAPE FROM CIRCLE 8 - an immersive new play that draws inspiration from Dante's "Inferno" set in Tijuana's hottest cantina - directed by Todd Conner and presented Off-Broadway at the Huron Club at Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) in Manhattan.

Performances of ESCAPE FROM CIRCLE 8 begin tonight, October 31st, with an official press opening slated for Sunday, November 2nd and final performance Sunday, November 23rd. Performance schedule for ESCAPE FROM CIRCLE 8 is Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm and Sundays at 3pm.

ESCAPE FROM CIRCLE 8 transports you to the midst of Tijuana's colorful night life, complete with drug dealers, prostitutes and others denizens of the dark. As your host unveils the story of her descent, one learns that everyone in Circle 8 is there for a similar reason - ensuring everyone a ringside seat in The Inferno. Once inside, there's no "escape" from Circle 8...or is there?

The cast of ESCAPE FROM CIRCLE 8 will feature Laura Siner (Oberon Theatre Ensemble's "American Rapture," Jessie in "'night, Mother" for White Horse Theater Company), Sydney Mei Ruf-Wong ("Color" at Theater for the New City) and Aaron Schwartz. The Stage Manager is Jenna Lazar (Oberon's "Drawer Boy," Resonance Ensemble's "The Truth Quotient," "One-Acts for a Cause").

Sarah Lawrence's first play "Liberty" won the Southern Playwright's Award and was produced in Jacksonville, AL as well as the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. "The King & Me," a satire about Elvis cult worship, won a national search for new comedies and was presented by the Pegasus Theatre. Her current play "Escape from Circle 8" was originally workshopped in Dallas through the Playwrights Project at the Addison Theatre Centre and directed by Jonathan Moscone. She is also the author of five business books and numerous magazine articles that have been featured on Good Morning America, NBC News, the Washington Post, NPR, among many others.

Todd Conner is a recipient of the Hendrix-Murphy Playwriting Award for his play "The Grendelmas," which he first produced and directed in a concert reading in the main sanctuary of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and subsequently directed at Hendrix College. His environmental adaptation and direction of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" set box office records at the Dallas Theatre Center. Also in Dallas, he served as the Artistic Director of The Playwrights Project. His signature work, a solo translation, adaptation and performance (with his own harp compositions) of Ovid's "Metamorphoses," has pleased audiences from California to Minnesota to New York since he premiered it in Beverly Hills in 2000. Todd received his seminal training as a stage director at The Directors Company in New York under Brian Murray, Nagle Jackson, Stephen Porter, and Michael Parva.
