Complete Theatre Company's US Premiere of SHAKESPEARE (IN SPACE) Begins Tonight

The Complete Theatre Company will present the American Premiere of SHAKESPEARE (IN SPACE), a dark comedy by the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Elchin.

The play is set in a psychiatric facility in the war-torn republic of Azerbaijan. Two of the patients are Joseph Stalin and Sarah Bernhardt. A new patient arrives, who claims to be from another planet, and transforms the entire mental hospital through the writings of Shakespeare.

The cast of SHAKESPEARE (IN SPACE) includes Joe Carr, Katie Consamus, James Christie, Chris Donovan, Corey Melton, Roberta Kirshbaum, Elizabeth Rose and Michael S Ruiz.

Playwright Elchin is an Azerbaijani writer, professor and politician who has served as Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan since 1993.

Director Annie Ward is the Founder & Artistic Director of The Complete Theatre Company. She has directed and produced over fifty shows in NYC and is the first American to direct an Azerbaijan play. The Complete Theatre Company is a social and professional network of actors and writers who collaborate to build and share a diverse body of work.

SHAKESPEARE (IN SPACE) will be presented at Theater 3, 311 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor, NYC. The performance schedule is: Tonight, November 18th @ 8 pm; Thursday, November 19th @ 8 pm; Friday, November 20th @ 8 pm; Saturday, November 21st @ 5 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, November 22nd @ 5 pm. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at shakespeareinspace.brownpapertickets.com.
