Musicals Tonight!'s THE APPLE TREE Begins Performances

In The Apple Tree, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick show us that women have been smarter than men from as far back as Eden when Adam says to Eve, "I remember when you invented fire."

In a barbaric kingdom a daughter gets around her father as if it were today's White House by intoning - "Oh, Daddy." In time present a star is created by TV, but unlike certain men, our star - a woman - is "tired of being a cardboard figure."

Songs include "Here in Eden"; "What Makes Me Love Him"; "I've Got What You Want"; "Oh, To Be a Movie Star" and "Gorgeous".

Eve (et al) is Savannah Frazier, Adam (et al) is Garen McRoberts, and Snake (et al) is Matthew Labanca. Both the principals and the ensemble - featuring Marc De La Concha; Elizabeth Flanagan; Alia Hodge; Colin Minamoto; and Wesley Tunison - play several roles.

Director/Choreographer is Ray Roderick. Music Director/Vocal Arranger is Jim Stenborg.

Performances run tonight, October 3, through October 15, four matinees at 2:00 Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun and four evenings at 7:30 Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row Studios (410 West 42nd Street).
