Caitlin and the Swan tells the story of a frustrated SAT tutor, her animal-loving friends, and their powerful attractions to the forbidden. Inspired by the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan, this play explores feminism, bestiality, and the twisted links between pain and love.

CAITLIN AND THE SWAN features Jake Aron, BrIan Burns*, Marguerite French*, Shetal Shah*, and Teresa Stephenson.

The creative team for CAITLIN AND THE SWAN includes sound design from Adam Swiderski, original music by Colin Wambsgans, and movement/choreography by Croft Vaughn.

Joshua Conkel (Director) moved to New York in 2003 after being hired to assist Craig Lucas in his adaptation of The Dying Gaul into a screenplay. He had previously assistant directed the premier of The Light in the Piazza at Seattle's Intiman Theater, which went on to Lincoln Center and garnered six TONY Awards. In New York, Joshua directed The Management's productions of The Long Christmas Dinner, Self-Obsession in Blue. Also a playwright, he also directed last year's hit production of his own play, The Chalk Boy. Joshua's plays have been performed in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Washington D.C. and Baton Rouge. He is a member of EST's Youngblood.

Dorothy Fortenberry (Playwright) is a recent graduate of the Yale School of Drama. Her plays include Good Egg, Bibles and Candy, book and lyrics for the musical Bicycling for Ladies, and We're Celebrities . . . We're Just Not Famous Yet. Her work has been developed at Arena Stage, Ars Nova, Geva Theatre, Perishable Theatre, Studio 42, and The Tank, and produced by EST/Youngblood, Journeyman Productions, and Vital Theatre Company. She served for two years as an Artistic Associate of the Yale Cabaret, and has taught playwriting in Washington, DC and New Haven, CT. She is the winner of the ASCAP Cole Porter Prize in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama and has been nominated for the PONY Fellowship, the Weissberger Award, and the Wasserstein Prize. Her play Good Egg won the Jane Chambers Student Playwriting Prize, and was a Finalist for the Princess Grace Award. She is a member of Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the interim artistic director of the O'Neill at Yale Mentorship Program.
