Small Pond Entertainment in association with Elana Gartner is pleased to present the world premiere production of Because of Beth, the Open Book 2007 Playwriting Competition finalist drama by Elana Gartner at the Workshop Theater's Mainstage (312 West 36 th St., 4th Floor, between 8th and 9th Ave.).  Previews of Because of Beth began January 9th with Clara Barton Green (Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival winner Three Questions) directing. The show closes Sunday.
 
Because of Beth explores the aftermath of Beth's death for the loved ones she left behind.   Her feuding daughters, her estranged ex-husband and her overwhelmed fiancé seek to mourn her in their own way.  Instead, they are forced to deal with one another and the complicated ties that bind them together because of Beth.  How will they come to terms with theiross when secrets are fresh, plentiful and powerful?

Because of Beth stars Hyosun Choi (Steven Spielberg's TV show "On the Lot"), David Douglas (Rome 9, Edinburgh International Theatre Festival), Susan Graham (National and International tours of Scooby Doo: Live in Stage Fright), George Raboni (Passing Fancy, Waverly Theatre) and Elizabeth Ruelas ( A Midsummer Night's Dream, New England Shakespeare Festival tour).  The design team includes Sean Tribble (set) and Solomon Weisbard (lighting).  Amanda Cynkin serves as the stage manager.
