Angela Lansbury Presents Liza Minnelli with Rolex Dance Award, 11/5

The Rolex Dance Award will be given to Liza Minnelli at JUMP FOR JOY: A DANCE VARIETY SPECTACULAR on November 5 at 7pm at New York City Center. This is the Career Transition For Dancers' 27th Anniversary Jubilee. Angela Lansbury will host, and the evening will be followed by a Supper at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.

The Career Transition For Dancers Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance Awards will be announced later. The show is produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo.

Liza Minnelli stated "I fell in love with dancing when I saw my first Broadway show. It was at that moment that I knew what I wanted to do. All of my dreams have come true because dancing has touched my heart. I am so honored and delighted to accept the 2012 Rolex Dance Award and share it with all of the Broadway gypsies who have the same dream… Thank You."

Liza Minnelli, winner of four Tony Awards, an Oscar, a special "Legends" Grammy, two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy, is one of the entertainment world's most famous performers. In film, on stage and in television, Liza has won critical acclaim, a multitude of fans, and recognition from her peers in show business, giving new dimension and credibility to the word "superstar." Considered one of America's true legends, throughout her lifetime Liza has supported various charities and causes

Angela Lansbury has enjoyed a career spanning more than half-a-century as a star of movies, a 5-time Tony Award-winning actress, and star of "Murder, She Wrote," the longest running detective drama series in television history.

Patron tickets are $600, $750 and $1,200 each. Tables for 10 start at $7,500.
