Alyssa Van Gorder Named Titan Theatre Company's New Managing Director

Today the Award-Winning Titan Theatre Company announced that Alyssa Van Gorder will take over as the company's new Managing Director. Van Gorder will step in for Titan Co-Founder, Kevin Beebee, who will remain with the company as the President of the Advisory Board.

"It was a difficult decision to step down as Titan's managing director after starting the company with Lenny and Laura ten years ago," Beebee said. "However, the decision was made easier knowing Alyssa would be my replacement. She has been with the company for 7 years, and has brought a wealth of knowledge, board contacts, leadership and fundraising skills that we wouldn't be where we are today without. There is no one better to help lead Titan into its second decade of programming and our commitment of keeping the arts alive and accessible to our beautiful borough of Queens."

This announcement comes on the heels of the appointments of Analiese Puzon as General Manager, and Marcus D. Johnson as Artistic Associate.

"It is an honor to take over for Kevin. As a Co-Founder of this company I know it is hard for him to step away from something he has helped build from the ground up. Working with him this past 7 years has been a true joy, and I will miss him greatly." said Van Gorder. "As we look to the future, I am excited about where we are headed. Titan has a track record of excellence in this, and I'm looking for us to find even more opportunities to lead the charge in stronger and louder ways."

Titan is Queens' largest independently producing company, and is the official Company-in-Residence at the Boroughs premier performing arts venue, the Queens Theatre. Conceived by Kevin Beebee, Lenny Banovez and Laura Frye with the goal of breathing new life and clarity into classical works of theatre through visceral, challenging, ensemble-driven productions, Titan Theatre Company began performing in 2008 in a Tex-Mex Bar and Restaurant in Long Island City, Queens. Since that time, Titan's signature work-which includes distinguished takes on Shakespeare's Hamlet, The Tempest, Medea, Cyrano, Othello, King Lear, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry V, and Macbeth-has been embraced by audiences from all walks of life.
