ADAPTIVE ARTS is pleased to announce its premiere production, THE GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN, by Bertolt Brecht directed by MARIELLE DUKE. The production opens on Friday, April 23rd at 7pm as part of AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH at the 14th ST Y. Performances continue Saturday the 24th at 7pm and Sunday the 25th at 3pm. There is no cost for admission but any donations raised will be given to TOUCHING HUMANITY, INC to benefit their upcoming Autism-related projects. Tickets can be reserved by emailing rsvpadaptive@gmail.com or calling (845) 667 0757. Reservations are encouraged as seating is very limited. THE 14TH ST Y is located at 344 east 14th St between 1st and 2nd avenue and the studio is on the first floor.

This production of THE GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN will be the first non-children's show adapted specifically for Autistic audiences across the country as well as the first of Brecht's plays produced for audiences with disabilities.

The production features an ensemble including: Michael Mraz, MICHAEL ALAN READ, WILLIAM SCHMINKE, COLLIN MCCONNELL, UGO ANYANWU, CHRISTIAN TOTH, Emily King BROWN*, KRISTIN CICCONE, KATE KERTEZ*, Gabby Sherba, ADIRA BARATTA, SHELLEY LITTLE, LEIGH POULOS, and Jerielle Morwitz. *Actors appearing courtesy of Actors Equity

Others involved in the project include ALI GOLDAPER (puppet designer and construction) and Patrick Metzger (composer and musical director).

Director MARIELLE DUKE most recently directed Hold the Bus by Isaac Rathbone as part of Adaptive Art's fundraiser. She is a director, teacher, and Autism advocate. In New York she has worked with Boomerang Theatre Company, Manhattan Theatre Source, Clubbed Thumb, Women's Expressive Theater, and Impetuous Theater Group, among others. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Educational Theatre and Special Education.

TOUCHING HUMANITY, INC (Co-Producer) is a 501c3 community-based arts and health education non-profit organization committed to promoting disability awareness through arts programming, particularly the performing arts, and educational events that support wellness, health and active participation in life.
