The Firehouse Theatre Project Hosts Comedy Benefit Show with Eddie Sarfaty, 4/10

The Firehouse Theatre Project is pleased to announce a Comedy Benefit Show starring stand-up comedian Eddie Sarfaty on Sunday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. at the Firehouse Theatre.

For one night only, the Firehouse stage will be graced with the hilarious presence of New York City comedian Eddie Sarfaty. Beginning March 28, the stand-up professional will be conducting a two-week comedy workshop at the Firehouse for "critically judgmental, self-deprecating, and attention starved people" who want to experience comedy from the other side of the microphone. Sarfaty will culminate his tenure in Richmond with a stand-up show to benefit the Firehouse and to showcase the achievements of the workshop students. The newly trained comedians will perform their material as an opening act for Sarfaty on April 10th.

Tickets are available online at www.firehousetheatre.org: $20 for adults and $15 for students, with all proceeds benefiting FTP. There will be a cash bar as well as

ABOUT EDDIE
Eddie Sarfaty has been featured at Montreal's Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and appeared on The Today Show, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and Logo's stand-up show, Wisecrack. He is on the faculty of The Theatre Lab in Washington, DC, and at New York University where he teaches workshops on comedy writing and performing. In 2008 Eddie's short story "Second-Guessing Grandma", was made into a film which has been featured at festivals across the USA as well as in Europe and South America. Eddie's first book, a collection of comic essays entitled Mental: Funny in the Head was released by Kensington Press in 2009 to excellent reviews.

Eddie is also one of the subjects of the documentary Laughing Matters, which was screened at numerous film festivals before being put into frequent rotation on Logo. He has written material for comedian Judy Gold and for the divine Bette Midler.
