Town & Country Players is seeking fourteen (14) actors, male and female presenting, ages ranging from teen to adult, for immediate casting. All roles are non-union, unpaid and open for actors of all genders, race and abilities.
This is a non-Equity production.

ABOUT THE SHOW
This Tony Award winning play follows the story of 15-year-old Christopher as he stands beside his neighbor Mrs. Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight, and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington the dog.
Christopher has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at math, but he is ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But Christopher’s detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that turns his world upside-down.

CORE CHARACTERS
Christopher Boone - (Adolescent Male Presenting) The 15-year-old protagonist. Identified as neurodiverse, he has an extraordinary skill with mathematics, but significantly struggles with social interactions.
Siobhan - (Adult Female Presenting) Christopher’s para-professional and mentor at school
Ed Boone - (Adult Male Presenting) Christopher’s father, a boiler engineer
Judy Boone - (Adult Female Presenting) Christopher’s mother

The Ensemble consists of six (6) actors with ability to portray distinct versatile character roles. Moderate physical agility will be required as ensemble members remain on stage for the entirety of the show.

Audition time slots will be confirmed by return email from the Producer within two business days (if not sooner).
Audition Forms will be emailed to candidates along with audition time confirmation. This form is required. It must be filled out and submitted prior to Audition.

The setting for this production is in Swindon, South West England, UK. Each candidate will be asked to read audition sides in either a Standard British or Swindon (West Country) accent for consideration.

For those candidates auditioning for “Christopher”: You will be asked to read two monologues to be considered for this role.
You will be asked to prepare the designated side for “Christopher” with your interpretation of the character’s autistic traits such as stimming, restrictive or repetitive behavior.
You will also be asked to prepare a dramatic monologue of your own choosing. This monologue should showcase your acting ability. This monologue should be no longer than 1-2 minutes in length.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL ADULT CAST MEMBERS (AGES 18 AND ABOVE) WILL BE REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR AND PROVIDE A PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PRODUCTION.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE AND MANDATORY DATES
Rehearsals will be held on a Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday rotation beginning Sunday, August 2, 2026.
The Production Team makes every effort to respect the Cast’s valuable time and conflicts during the rehearsal period. Cast Members will only be called for rehearsal when needed.
Due to the small cast size, substantial dialog requirements and emotional intensity of this production, we will be double casting the four (4) core characters of “Christopher”; “Ed”; Siobhan and “Judy”. Audience attended, live performances will be divided up between both casts during this production run.
THIS PRODUCTION WILL OPERATE UNDER A 10 WEEK REHEARSAL PERIOD BEFORE LOAD IN AT TOWN & COUNTRY THEATER. Once Load In is complete, rehearsals will be more frequent in the remaining 3 weeks leading to Opening Night to accommodate Tech Runs, Dress Rehearsals and Full Tech/Production Runs and possible Preview.
In order to fully prepare each Cast for this production and to maximize time regarding the amount of material being covered during the rehearsal period, the Production Team will institute an attendance policy providing for three (3) excused absences during the rehearsal period (August 2, 2026 - October 29, 2026). The Production Team respectfully asks that you consider your time commitment, work schedules and/or involvement with other productions that may have conflicting rehearsals and/or show dates with our established schedule.

Load In: Sunday, October 11, 2026
Tech Weekend: Saturday, October 24, 2026 and Sunday, October, 25, 2026.
Dress Rehearsals: Monday, October 26, 2026; Tuesday, October 27, 2026 and Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Preview Performance (TBD): Thursday, October 29, 2026
