It's Kiwis all the way in World Premiere!

There's something new and exciting in store for Auckland Theatregoers with the World Premiere of Morningstar opening at the Pumphouse tomorrow night.

Producers Sapphire Productions had a huge success with comedy hit Nigel last year, playing to sold-out audiences. This year it's Morningstar; an action-packed high stakes drama written by award-winning playwright Albert Beltz.

Brothers Lucifer the Light Bearer and Michael the Protector are in conflict after Dad has left. One seeks change, while the other tries to hold on to tradition and law. How far will they take their desires?

This is the story of the first battle between good and evil, a family divided and all that is familiar is at risk of being lost forever.

Blair Strang no stranger to New Zealand television and theatre. He is the founder of Sapphire Productions and is on a mission to foster New Zealand Theatre with the focus of solely producing work that is written and performed by New Zealanders. He's back on stage in the role of Lucifer the Light Bearer finding himself very attracted to the role so much so that he doesn't mind the scantily clad costumes.

Strang says his company is also keen to develop new talent and Morningstar has a lineup of well known theatrical stars as well as up and coming talent in the cast. Bravo for creating this opportunity.

Taking on the challenge of directing this multi-faceted play is Romy Hooper who is better known for her television and performance work. Hooper has recently finished a four-month stint with Pop Up Globe. She and Strang are well known to each other having played accidental parents Brian and Courtney in the popular television series Nothing Trivial.

Buckle in for an incredible night with an award-winning play and some of New Zealand's finest talent!
