TPAC Announces Change to Line-up For the 2014-15 Broadway Season

By:

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center announces a change to the line-up for its 2014-15 HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC season. EVITA, which had been scheduled for a Nashville engagement November 4-9, 2014, has been removed from the season due to a change in the production's touring schedule.

TPAC announces that one of theatre's most legendary musicals, CAMELOT, has been added to the seven-show season and will play a one-week run in TPAC's Andrew Jackson Hall from November 4-9, 2014, the same dates for which EVITA was scheduled.

Patrons who have renewed or purchased season ticket packages can call TPAC's Subscribers Services line at (615) 782-6560 to learn how this change affects their plans for the coming season.

"Curating and finalizing a Broadway season from the available touring productions is always a bit fluid, and we regret any inconvenience caused by this change to our longtime season ticket holders and the hundreds of new subscribers drawn to next season's exciting slate of Broadway hits," said Kathleen O'Brien, TPAC president and chief executive officer. "This new production of Camelot was something which we had been keeping an eye on, and we're excited to be able to bring it to our audiences earlier than expected."

Season tickets are available at www.tpac.org/broadway, by phone at (615) 782-6560 or(800) 410-4216. For information on group tickets, call the TPAC Group Sales Office at(615) 782-4060. The cost of a seven-show season package for the HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC series starts at under $150.

Full description of CAMELOT provided by the producers:

CAMELOT (CamelotTour.com) THE STORY AS YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE. Experience Camelot's "one brief shining moment" as Lerner and Loewe envisioned it in one of theatre's most legendary musicals. Recount the time-honored legend of King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, and the Knights of the Round Table in an enchanting fable of chivalry, majesty, and brotherhood in this four-time Tony Award® winning show. CAMELOT tells the story of the legend of King Arthur who rules his kingdom with new ideals, bringing peace to a troubled land. But when his beautiful new Queen Guinevere and the dashing Sir Lancelot, his most trusted knight, give in to their passion for one another, one of the most fabled love triangles of all time ensues. When Mordred, King Arthur's illegitimate son, catches on and sees a kingdom in chaos, he attempts to destroy all that is Camelot! Intimate and fresh, never has this story of passion, pageantry and betrayal been more captivating. The celebrated score includes the classics "If Ever I Would Leave You," "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood," and the title song, "Camelot."
