GroundWorks Theatre greets the holiday season with Robert A. O'Connell's original comedy The Very Different Christmas Dinner, running December 9-18, at Darkhorse Theater.

"This gentle comedy is funny, irreverent and finally full of the spirit of Christmas," according to a press release. "When Laura Dish wished for a different kind of Christmas she didn't know that God was listening…and was very surprised when her guests included Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart, Oscar Wilde, Marilyn Monroe, Janis Joplin and, of course, Jesus Christ."

The Very Different Christmas Dinner stars Jonathan and Myra Stephens, Trish Crist, Chaz Howard, Kellye Mitchell, Brian Hill, Heather Webber and Eric Ventress.

The Very Different Christmas Dinner is presented at the Darkhorse Theater, located at 4610 Charlotte Avenue. Tickets are $12 adults/ $10 seniors and students. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.  with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. For reservations call 262-5485 or for tickets go online towww.groundworkstheatre.com.
