Theatre Coup d'Etat to Stage THE GLASS MENAGERIE
An American classic set against the backdrop of 1930s depression-era St. Louis, THE GLASS MENAGERIE is the gut-wrenching story of the Wingfield family.
Tom, an aspiring poet, toils away his days in a shoe factory in order to support his debilitatingly shy sister, Laura, and their mother, Amanda, a southern Belle who was forced into single motherhood when her husband left 16 years previous. Torn between duty to his family and the expectations of society, Tom must decide whether to stay and perish or pursue his own life path.
Ivey Award-winning Theatre Coup d'Etat maintains its tradition of a dynamic, actor-driven production. Combined with the intimacy of Savage Umbrella's SPACE, Theatre Coup d'Etat's production of THE GLASS MENAGERIE is another can't-miss experience.
