Tickets for Orpheum Theatre's REINVENTING RADIO: AN EVENING WITH IRA GLASS Now On Sale
The Orpheum Theatre will present famed radio host Ira Glass in Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass. Best known for NPR's This American Life, Glass will exhibit the sound of the show for one night only on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 8:00 PM at the Orpheum Theatre.
Presented by WKNO, the show provides a riveting look into This American Life, the public radio show that continues to push the boundaries of broadcast journalism. The public is invited to join Ira Glass - radio pioneer, host, and creator of This American Life - as he recreates the sound of the show right in front of the audience by mixing live onstage stories with pre-taped quotes and music, while also featuring a "best of" segment from the series' funniest moments. Audiences will not want to miss this evening full of humor and insight put on by one of America's most renowned radio hosts.
Ira Glass began working in public radio in 1978. His editorial direction has lead This American Life to receive several Peabody and DuPont-Columbia awards. Glass' quirky, unassuming and impossible not-to-like persona seamlessly translates from radio to the stage.
