A pioneer in its field, Suresnes Cities Dance Festival, "where all the dances have the right of citizenship," appears as a nursery of talent from in cities. Since its inception in 1993, in fact, the Festival has given its pedigree to hip-hop, which now has dug its groove and is showing many theaters.
However, if the hip-hop is the king of the feast, Suresnes Cities Dance does not exclude other styles which feeds largely urban dance. Generate unprecedented artistic encounters between the new hip-hop scene, already working on his technical virtuosity, his choreographic invention and bracing sound and light, and talented choreographers and often confirmed, is one of the spearheads of the Festival.
The aim is to encourage dialogue between dance and contemporary hip-hop. The game principle is simple and complex at once: a contemporary choreographer auditions for hip-hop dancers for whom he will design a room at the crossroads of art and his personal expertise. The respectmutuel is the golden rule. In 2012 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Suresnes Cities Dance Festival, Olivier Meyer, artistic director, proposed to Robyn Orlin and Angelin Preljocaj to imagine two more dances. Robyn Orlin no introduction and Angelin Preljocaj has made ??a grand entrance at the Grand Theatre in October 2010. For the first time in their illustrious career, these two artists, whose talent is internationally recognized, committed, with enthusiasm and generosity in this new artistic and human adventure, after selecting a group of hip-hop dancers. A summit that promises a great time dancing.
