O Mensch! In the beginning, met a composer Pascal Dusapin, and a singer, Georg Nigl, around an opera Faustus, the Last Night, created in 2006. Collaboration continued for a new opera, Passion, represented Luxembourg in 2010. Then Georg Nigl Pascal Dusapin wished him up a few songs to be included in a recital. But soon, the composer had the desire to risk a cycle, much longer and more diverse in the expression of emotions. A great opportunity to realize his predilection for poetry of Nietzsche. It was not to do something "about" or "with" Nietzsche, but for Dusapin, composing "his" Nietzsche.
The result: O Mensch!, 27 rooms including 4 solo piano interludes, a walk which intersect themes as diverse as humanity, the hills at night, death, despair, love, secrecy, Richard Wagner, nature, the gay science, the tub of Diogenes, the glory, the moon.
Scenically, a piano, a man who sings, shadows, outlines, some apparently still veiled, the appearance of a man walking, seeking one or two faces, expressions of light and fire. And a screen of water, the receptacle of all evocations stage, the product of a technology as the original complex. The soundstage will also be given special treatment creating reverb dissimilar places of great poetic intensity.
