This Monodrama for a woman's voice and Ensemble is a commissioned work in Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa (* 1955) by Ensemble Lucilin. The Ensemble and the composer have collaborated on several occasions. In 2005, Lucilin visited Japan for a series of concerts at the fiftieth anniversary of occasiondu Toshio Hosokawa.
Born in Hiroshima in 1955, Toshio Hosokawa studied piano and composition in Tokyo before moving to West Berlin in 1976 to study composition with Isang Yun, piano with Rolf Kuhnert, and analysis with Witold Szaloneck. From 1983 to 1986, he moved to Freiburg to work with Klaus Huber and Brian Ferneyhough. Its catalog includes works for orchestra, concertos, chamber music, music for traditional Japanese instruments, film scores, operas. Sesoeuvres, favoring slow, and meditative character which displays the spiritual dimension is never absent, are often made in large cycles. On the other hand, the themes of the inner journey and links between the individual and nature through many of them. During the 2010-2011 season, the public discovered his last opera Matsukaze in the choreography by Sasha Waltz at the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie and then at the Grand Theatre.
