An afternoon of contemporary dance will be presented Oct. 22 and 23 in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Performances will be held at 1 p.m. each day.

Co-Directed by Courtney Combs and Heather Sirois-Arnold, cast members of "Phantom Las Vegas". The show will feature a collection of dance by choreographers and artists from various productions on the Las Vegas Strip including Phantom Las Vegas, Lion King, LE RÊVE, Viva ELVIS, The Beatles LOVE, Peep Show, Zumanity, Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theatre, Nevada Ballet Theatre, and many more.

This is the fourth year of the partnership between Family Promise of Las Vegas and the CSN Performing Arts Center to present a performance of this type, which is a benefit for each organization and includes a silent auction and reception with the cast and crew.

"The concert title reflects not only the outstanding dancing that will be performed," said Bruce Ewing, the show's producer and Family Promise board member, "but also the giving spirit of the performers who love our city so much and are ‘moved' to donate their time and talent to this event because it benefits such worthwhile causes. The response we receive every year from local entertainers is phenomenal."

Family Promise is a non-profit organization that assists homeless families in the Las Vegas valley to achieve lasting independence by mobilizing the community to provide safe shelter, meals, and support services for them.

The Performing Arts Center's share of proceeds will go to its "Friends of the Horn Theatre" and used to enhance productions by bringing in guest artists and more diverse programming.

"It is our privilege to be able to collaborate with Family Promise again," says Brenda Talley, director of the Performing Arts Center. "Our organizations share the mission and desire to build a stronger community and improve the quality of life for residents of southern Nevada."
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors/students and include the post-show reception. Call the CSN Box Office at 651-LIVE (5483) for reservations or visit csn.edu/pac or familypromiselv.com
