The Vanity Theater's Sugar Creek Players will close their 39th season with one of the greatest theatrical spectacles of all time, WEST SIDE STORY, sponsored by the Journal Review. The show will open Friday, July 30 at 8pm and running two weekends through August 8.
The Buck Creek Players Present Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND JUNIOR, 7/30-8/8

The Buck Creek Players will continue their 2009-2010 season 'On the Home Front' with the Playhouse Players Youth Production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Junior, sponsored in part by The Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce. Opening Friday, July 30, and running for two weekends through Sunday, August 8, curtain times will be at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees offered on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse on Indianapolis' southeast side at 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for children, students, and senior citizens (ages 62 & older) and can be reserved by calling (317) 862-2270. Group discounts are available for parties of ten or more.

Internationally known opera star Angela Brown, who honed her craft at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, is on a mission: the down-to-earth soprano with the voice of an angel seeks to bring opera to the masses. Brown will return to Bloomington for a July 30, 8 p.m. performance of her witty solo show, 'Opera from a Sistah's Point of View,' at the Musical Arts Center. Cliff Jackson will accompany her on piano.

The historic Madame Walker Theatre Center recently hired Malina Simone Jeffers as Director of Marketing and Programs. Jeffers, an Indianapolis native, studied both Advertising and Fine Art at Ball State University before a career at Emmis Communications and then the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Jeffers brings over five years of experience in arts and journalism to The Walker.
