The Phoenix Theatre will hold its 16th annual microbrew festival, Brew-Ha-Ha, on Saturday, June 25, 2011, 3:00-7:00 pm. The event is open to individuals aged 21 and older. Sample the region's finest microbrews and craft beers, relax to live music all afternoon long, and enjoy great food at Indy's original beer sampling event. Proceeds from Brew-Ha-Ha support the educational outreach programs of the not-for-profit Phoenix Theatre. Corporate sponsors for this year's event are Citizens Energy Group, Crown Liquors, Dean Johnson, 1070 The Fan, Indianapolis Monthly and NUVO.
Brew-Ha-Ha provides an outdoor block party atmosphere in 700 block of North Park Avenue between Massachusetts Avenue and East St. Clair Street in downtown Indianapolis' historic Chatham Arch neighborhood, with the street blocked off to traffic for the event. Live entertainment is provided all afternoon with music by local bands Tim Brickley and the Bleeding Hearts, Finding Fred and The Subpoenas. Brew-Ha-Ha is a rain-or-shine event. Tickets are $30 ($25 in advance through June 24), just $10 for designated drivers.
Brew-Ha-Ha attracts the area's finest microbrewers and craft beer distributors each year, with more than 50 beers available to sample. This year, 20 breweries from all over Indiana have already been confirmed, including some new to the festival. Brew-Ha-Ha attendees this year will include Indianapolis brewers Flat 12 Bierwerks, Sam Adams, Twisted Tea, Three Wise Men, Rock Bottom, Ram, Bier Brewery, Zink Distributing, Fountain Square Brewing, Three Pints Brewing, Sun King, and Broad Ripple Brew Pub. Outside Indianapolis are: Bee Creek Brewery, Brazil, Indiana; People's Brewing Company, Lafayette, Indiana; Upland, Bloomington, Indiana; Oaken Barrel Brewing Company, Greenwood, Indiana; New Albanian Brewing Company, New Albany, Indiana; New Boswell Brewing, New Boswell, Indiana; Power House Brewing Company, Columbus, Indiana; and Half Moon Brewery from Kokomo, Indiana.
Brew-Ha-Ha admission enables attendees to sample as many brews as many times as they care to. This year's food vendors will include Duos, Scotty's Brewhouse, Red Coach Kettle Corn, and Marco's Pizza.
