New Holiday Programming Set For The Madame Walker Theatre Center
The Madame Walker Theatre Center partners with Beyond The Pointe' Dance Company for its inaugural performance season. Beyond The Pointe' - a Contemporary Dance Company will present in concert, "The Naptown Nutcracker". "It's the Nutcracker like you've never seen before," says Nicole Hargro, Artistic Director, "join us December 3rd and 4th in the theatre for this modernized classic." The Naptown Nutcracker is a special contemporary rendition of a Holiday classic to include modern dancing and singing. Also on the lineup for the holiday season, in partnership with the Asante Children's Theatre, is the Walker's first Kwanzaa Bazaar. In an effort to celebrate the diversity within the holiday season, the Walker will introduce a bazaar showcasing artwork and other local offerings such as dance classes, eateries, etc. The Kwanzaa Bazaar will take place Saturday, December 11th from 5pm until 9pm in the lobby of the theatre. The bazaar will take place before and after the Kwanzaa concert by Asante benefiting the Gleaners Food Bank. Admission into the bazaar is free.
