Morris on Venues Today Midwest 2010 and Pollstar Top 50 Rankings

The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, continues to shine on the Worldwide Top 50 Theatre Venue rankings. The Morris is listed at #36 based on 2011 first quarter ticket sales, as reported in Pollstar magazine, the concert industry's leading trade publication. South Bend's favorite live performance venue shines alongside such well-known venues as Radio City Music Hall in New York City and the Fox Theatres in Atlanta and Detroit, and ranks above the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne.

The Morris is listed at #7 on the 2010 Midwest venues with 5,000 or fewer seats. Ranking is based on total gross dollars as reported for the year in Venues Today magazine, a national concert industry publication.

In addition, the Morris was recognized at the end of 2010 with the Prime Site Award from Facilities Magazine for its outstanding service to event clientele, based on the opinions of over 10,000 booking agents, promoters and talent buyers. The Morris was also voted South Bend Tribune 2011 Readers' Choice "Favorite Live Performance Theater."

The Morris was built in 1921, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and completed a restoration and renovation process in 2000 restoring it to it's original vaudeville splendor. The theater hosts a wide variety of concerts, national Broadway touring musicals, symphony, dance, comedians and is home to the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and Broadway Theatre League.
