In 1634, Isaac de Benserade, a young poet of twenty, wrote this outrageous comedy. Forgotten today, it is however a daring and a unique modernity: inspired by the Metamorphoses of Ovid, it tells of the love is two girls; one, Iphis, mysteriously high as a boy, and the other, Iante, its neighbour.
Their fathers have decided to marry them. Iphis knows girl, but no matter, this passion devours. The fathers decided to move the ceremony. The marriage is concluded. And the marriage is consummated...
Follow various upheavals, public scandal, the intervention of the goddess Isis; It does not tell you the end, it would be a shame. And there are still many other adventures, other surprises in this comedy.
No moral in there: it is a fable of psychoanalysis and modern homosexuality, a poem by the hot hours of the youth. Away from the baroqueuses devotions, playing freely eras, Jean-Pierre Vincent wants especially to enable this tale for here and now: sexuality, feelings, family relations.
This once upon a time, it is here also.
