An Equity Actor for a scaled-down adaptation of Washington Square by Henry James; Mid 19th century, New York City.

Lavinia Penniman: Female, 45-60. Is Dr. Sloper's younger sister. The widow of a penniless clergyman, the eccentric and overly dramatic Lavinia comes to live with Dr. Sloper and his daughter Catherine not long after Dr. Sloper becomes a widower. She helps raise Catherine and is romantic, sentimental and loves secrets and mysteries. She can be meddlesome, inquisitive and unwilling to accept reality.

All stage management positions have been filled for this production.

PREPARATION

Actors should prepare a brief monologue relevant to the time period and locale. Bring picture and resume.
