Runs: 9/23-10/18/2026
SYNOPSIS: How did an untrained secretary come to redefine our understanding of what it means to be human? Aping Jane is a celebration of the brilliant life of Jane Goodall told from the perspectives of the animals around her. This one-woman play takes you through the jungle and back in order to uncover the heart behind one of the world's most influential minds.
CAST
Jane Goodall, chimps and other animals, scientists and other humans.
THE WICKHAMS: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY
by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon (Jane Austen is for everyone. All welcome)
Rehearses: 10/27-11/17/2026
Runs: 11/18-12/13/2026
SYNOPSIS: In this delightful companion play to Miss Bennet, Jane Austen’s beloved characters take the stage for a yuletide sequel to Pride and Prejudice. While Miss Bennet depicted the newly wed Darcys’ Christmas gathering on the ground floor of Pemberley, The Wickhams takes audiences to the downstairs servants' quarters for that same celebration. Mrs. Reynolds, a no-nonsense housekeeper; Cassie, an eager new maid; and Brian, a lovesick footman, are bustling with preparations for holiday guests. But their work is interrupted by the midnight arrival of the definitely not invited Mr. Wickham – Lydia’s rogue of a husband and Mr. Darcy’s sworn enemy. The Wickhams is a charming holiday tale that explores the confines of class and the generosity of forgiveness.
SEEKING:
- MRS. REYNOLDS - late 50’s early 60’s, the housekeeper at Pemberley, knows all and sees all, has been on staff since Darcy was a child, a mother figure to the household.
- BRIAN - 20’s. A footman, in love with technology and inventions, sincere and earnest, perhaps a bit arrogant.
- CASSIE - 20’s. The new housemaid, a village girl, an orphan who came from less than nothing. The opportunity to work at Pemberley means security she has never had, and she takes this job very seriously. She is sometimes maybe too eager and a bit headstrong.
- MR. FITZWILLIAM DARCY - 30’s. Head and owner of Pemberley.
- MRS. ELIZABETH DARCY - mid-late 20’s. Mistress of Pemberley.
- GEORGE WICKHAM - late 20’s-30’s. Grew up at Pemberley, son of the former steward, once a soldier, has been in and out of trouble (of his own making) his whole life.
- LYDIA WICKHAM - late teens-early 20’s. A bright, warm and charming personality, if sometimes a bit much, eloped with Wickham and is now somewhat trapped in this marriage.
AMERICAN FAST
by Kareem Fahmy
Rehearses: 1/19-2/9/2026
Runs: 2/10-3/7/2026
SYNOPSIS: Khady, a 21-year-old Middle Eastern American college basketball player is playing in the NCAA championship. The narrative unfolds through the perspectives of Khady, her mother Suzan, her coach, and Gabe, a fellow player, highlighting the challenges faced by Muslim women in sports and the societal pressures surrounding them. The play emphasizes themes of ambition, cultural identity, and the quest for recognition in a male-dominated arena. American Fast is a thrilling, fast paced examination of what it means to be true to yourself, and the difficulties that arise when the outside world gets in the way.
SEEKING:
- KHADY [pronounced “Katie”] — A 21-year-old Middle Eastern American woman. A college senior. A point guard on her school’s Division 1 basketball team.
- GABE — A 20-year-old Black man. A college junior. A forward on his school’s Division 1 basketball team.
- COACH — A Black woman in her 40s. The Coach of Khady’s basketball team and a former player herself.
- SUZAN [pronounced “Suzanne”] (CAST) — A Middle Eastern woman in her late 40s. Khady’s mother. Born in Egypt, she speaks with an accent.
MARJORIE PRIME
by Jordan Harrison
Rehearses: 3/16-4/6/2027
Runs: 4/7-5/2/2027
SYNOPSIS: It’s the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year-old Marjorie – a jumble of disparate, fading memories – has a handsome new companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance? In this richly spare, wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits – if any – of what technology can replace.
SEEKING:
- MARJORIE - 85
- WALTER - early 30’s
- TESS - 55, Marjorie’s daughter
- JON - 55 - Marjorie’s son-in-law
THE BREAK
by Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond - (new musical)
Rehearses: 5/11-6/1/2027
Runs: 6/2-6/27/2027
SYNOPSIS: The story follows a long-term couple, Charlie and Samantha, who take a 30-day sexual walkabout to explore other relationships before deciding to get married. It is a poignant funny exploration of modern love, commitment, and self-discovery.
SEEKING:
- SAM: (CAST) Female, late 20’s, smart, sassy, sarcastic. Trying to overcome her insecurities and self-consciousness. Her humor always comes from a place of deep kindness. She would have been described as a tomboy growing up. Still a bit repressed as a result of her Catholic upbringing in Texas, though she's ditched the accent. (also plays other characters)
- CHARLIE: (CAST) Playful, sensitive, and creative. Kind of a dork, but in a charming way. Passionate about his music, though he may lack the drive to ever truly make it. He sees himself as the more emotional one in the relationship, but there's an aloofness to him as well. Uses humor as a defense mechanism.
