CONTRACT

Single Engagement Agreement. $367 weekly minimum.

Rehearsal in Portland: April 27 – May 24, 2026. Approximately 5 rehearsals per week; primarily late afternoon/evening.

Tech: May 23 – May 31 (times TBD).

Dress: June 1 – June 3 (times TBD).

Performances: June 4 – June 28, 2026. Thursday–Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM; Sundays at 2:00 PM.

SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in THE WORDS WILL COME.

SHEILA

Persian / Middle Eastern female-presenting. 18–30 to play a 9-year-old.

9-year-old Persian girl with dyslexia. Bright, curious, perceptive, with a vivid imagination. Sincerely and truthfully embodies a child.

LALA

Persian / Middle Eastern female-presenting. 30–50.

She is middle-aged. A sculptor. Guarded, observant, deeply protective. Doubles as: Mileva, Maman (Mom), Teacher. Shares physical or energetic traits with Sheila.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Any race, any gender, portrayed as masculine, 45–70. Thoughtful, kind, absent-minded, brilliant. A mentor to Sheila. Speaks with a German accent; iconic, slightly disheveled presence. Doubles as: Baba (Dad), Doctor Ellis, Angie.

If you are unable to attend the in-person auditions, video submissions will be accepted. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination.
