The Savannah Disputation tells the story of two sisters whose Catholic faith is rocked after a visit from a young evangelist. To fight back, the women invite the missionary and their unsuspecting parish priest to a truly devilish dinner party, where they stage a theological showdown in this all-out questioning of religious faith and belief.
Seeking:
Mary:
Late 40s-50s, southern Catholic, has never put much thought into her personal appearance. While she is a Southern woman, there is nothing typically southern about her grooming or clothes. Opinionated and irascible.
Margaret:
50s, Mary’s sister, southern Catholic, has never put much thought into her personal appearance. While she is a Southern woman, there is nothing typically southern about her grooming or clothes. Soft spoken, sees the best in everyone.
Father Murphy:
40s-50s, Catholic priest. Far from being a plump prince of the church, he looks more like a computer geek, which is to say, someone who has lived a life of the mind.
Melissa:
Late 20s-mid 30s, a not necessarily natural blonde, over-zealous, door to door Christian evangelical (vehemently anti-Catholic). She takes care to flatter her figure in the most attractive way. Her fashion icon is Faith Hill, though toned down for everyday wear.
