All actors must be able to audition, rehearse and travel from NYC.

THE MYSTERY OF KING TUT, the role submitting for, and your height.

ALL ACTORS ARE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS, and will be required, as such, to lift scenery, costumes and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs (up to 60 lbs).

This is a musical. All actors must be strong singers with a pop sensibility.

Seeing a diverse company; Ethnic performers strongly encouraged to submit.

Seeking:

Howard Carter:

Pop Tenor. Young leading man type, 20s or 30s. An English archaeologist, circa 1922, think Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

King Tut:

Pop Tenor. Youthful leading man type; 18+ to play the young King: He ages from 9 to 18 over the course of the story, so MUST have range. Character must be Asian, African American or Latino.

Anke / Vita Soames:

Pop Soprano. 18+ to play ages 12-21. Anke is best friend and wife to King Tut. She also plays Vita Soames, an American Trading Card manufacturer and A New Woman circa 1922. Character must be Asian, African American or Latina.

Ahmed / Uncle Aye / Maynard Owen Williams:

Tenor. 20s. Ahmed is an Egyptian foreman of the 1922 dig. Also plays Uncle Aye, advisor and uncle to King Tut, and Maynard Owen Williams, a reporter for National Geographic, an American. Character preferred to be cast as a non-Caucasian person.

Lord Carnavon:

Pop Baritone/Tenor. Comic character actor. Mid 20s-early 30s. A privileged Englishman. Also plays MAMOUN ABU BEN HANI, a 20th Century Egyptian official, and others.

Madame Minsk / General Horemheb:

Pop Baritone/Tenor. Male character actor. Late 20s-30s. Minsk is a Russian fortune teller (this is a woman played by a man). Also plays General Horemheb plus various choral parts.
