ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING!
This original musical will incorporate period music to focus on the stories of ordinary Americans caught up in a war that was personal for some, and a war of ideals for others.
Actors must be available to audition and rehearse in NYC. No Housing provided.
All actors signed to Actor/ASM contract.
Seeking actors age 18+ for the following:
Johnny:
Male late 20s, Tenor. Must have good Irish accent. Seen the world, heroic, romantic, but with a scrappy quality about him (so not your standard leading man). Also plays the tough as nails Gus, among other characters.
Jackie:
Female 20s, Mezzo Soprano. Jackie is scrappy, smart, a tom boy, not willing to sit at home while the war rages on around her. Also plays Kathleen, and Irish immigrant, grounded, romantic. Plays multiple roles. Ability to play drums a plus.
Sarge:
Male 30s, Baritone. Military bearing, grounded, good sense of humor, warm; serves as “narrator” playing multiple roles. Must easily connect with audience.
Will:
Male early 20s, Tenor. Young, inexperienced, nervous, easily scared. Plays multiple roles.
Zac:
African-American Male early 20s. Baritone. Smart, scrappy, a survivor, has a good heart. Plays multiple roles.
