Equity audition procedures are NOT in effect. No Equity monitor provided. Producer runs all aspects of the audition.

Prepare 16 bars of a brief contemporary pop or musical theatre song, please have music in correct key. Piano accompaniment will be provided.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Based on the popular book SKIPPYJON JONES by Judy Schachner, this is a musical. All actors must be funny, quirky, versatile performers along the lines of Saturday Night Live or Forbidden Broadway. All actors must be strong singers with a pop sensibility. ALL CHARACTERS SING & DANCE.

ALL ACTORS WILL BE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS. Actors must be available to audition, rehearse, and perform in NYC. No Housing provided. This is not a tour.

18+ tenor, not Caucasian, to play our hero, a Siamese Cat with a big imagination.

MAMA JUNEBUG/ALFREDO BUZZITO

comic character actor, 18+ baritenor, to play multiple roles including a mama Cat and evil Bumblebee Bandit. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.

ROSALITA

Female, 18+ mezzo with pop belt, to play feisty Chuihuahua, the only girl in the pack. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.

POQUITO TITO

Female 18+ Sop with Pop Belt, to play Skippyjon’s best pal. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged.

DON DIEGO

Male 18+ baritone to play pack leader of the Chihuahuas. Ethnic performers strongly encouraged to attend.
