BREAKDOWN

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE

SEEKING:

• John Smith: A quick-witted, ordinary-looking London taxi driver. His life is entirely consumed by maintaining a flawless bigamous marriage and managing his varying shift work to alternate between his two households.
• Mary Smith (Wife 1): One of John's two wives. She is neat, charming, slightly naïve, organized, and appears in control of her life. A series of unexpected situations quickly throw her off-balance.
• Barbara Smith (Wife 2): John's second wife. She is loving, bubbly, and completely unaware of John's deceit until chaos ensues.
• Stanley Gardner (John's Friend): John's eccentric best friend and neighbor. Stanley considers himself an intellectual, but his attempts to help John cover his tracks usually result in comic chaos.
• Detective Sergeants Troughton: Rigid, by-the-book detective, intimidating police sergeant who is easily confused by John's web of lies.
• Detective Porterhouse: A slightly more grounded family man. A seasoned compassionate police detective. A bit more easy-going but easily misled.
• Bobby Franklyn: The flamboyant and eccentric neighbor who lives upstairs. He serves as a quirky catalyst for the escalating misunderstandings.
• News Reporter: An intrusive journalist who smells a story and tries to expose the secret life of John.
