BREAKDOWN
MONA JUUL- Norwegian. Mid 30’s - East 40’s. Our narrator/guide to the story. Elegant and charismatic. She holds any audience in the palm of her hand. Under her impeccable manners is a sharp wit and a will of steel. Her grace and ability to be two moves ahead of all the men on the proverbial chessboard is what keeps the game going.
TERJE LARSEN- Norwegian. 40’s. Mona’s husband (and, back in the day, her professor in school). A dynamic, charming, raconteur; Norway’s answer to Noel Coward, if the latter went into politics. The crazier things get, the more joyous it is for him. A true intellectual who’s charm dazzles.
AHMED QURIE - Palestinian. 50’s. A great and formidable man, full of passion and speechmaking. Rabelaisian in his appetites and operatic in his emotions. He has a volcanic temper that he uses to his advantage. When he loses control is he acting? Is it real? Sometimes even he doesn’t know. Not an intellectual and defensive about that. Immensely charming, intensely clever.
