The Shakespeare Theatre has played host to a number of luminary actors and performances. We have produced plays with Academy Award Nominee Marsha Mason (All’s Well That Ends Well), Tony Award Winner Elizabeth Ashley (Mrs. Warren’s Profession), RSC Company Member Lisa Harrow (Ion), RSC Company Member Suzanne Bertish (Antony and Cleopatra), Rene Auberjonois (Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid), Stacy Keach (King Lear) and Patrick Stewart (Othello). Recently we have hosted the National Theatre’s production of Phaedra with Helen Mirren, the Tricycle Theatre’s production of The Great Game, and we are about to present the National Theatre of Scotland’s Black Watch.
The Shakespeare Theatre has dedicated itself to becoming the nation's premiere classic theatre. We take pride in being a theatre where great actors can come to work on challenging texts.
