[HERO] Female- 20’s- Any Ethnicity. Leonato’s daughter. Ambitious and work-focused, aspirational, smart and alert but quiet. When her integrity is challenged, she truly shows her strength and grounding.

[DOGBERRY] Female – 30’s-50’s – Any Ethnicity. Head of Security in this production. Filled with integrity, good intentions, and pride for their job. This role must be played by a masterful clown and is one of the great comedic clowns written by Shakespeare.

[BORACHIO] Male – 30’s – Any Ethnicity - Intelligent, hip and plotting. He knows how to hatch a plan and deceive even the most strategic mind. He makes some large mistakes but is ultimately penitent for his actions. May Understudy

[DON PEDRO] Male - 40’s - Any Ethnicity - Suave, Corporate, Handsome. Don John’s brother. He truly enjoys being the orchestrating force in bringing people together in love.

[CLAUDIO] Male – 20’s-30’s- Any Ethnicity A handsome young leading man. Not particularly quick witted and a bit of a bro. He is very reactive and believes what is right in front of him without too much thought on the matter.

[DON JOHN] Male – 30’s-40’s- Any Ethnicity - Don Pedro’s brother. Truly unhappy and is the personification of the saying “misery loves company”. Plotting, devious, manipulative and very smart.

[FRIAR OR SISTER FRANCES] Any Gender Identity - 30's-50's - Any Ethnicity - A Registrar/Officiant – A steadying force in a whirlwind of unexpected chaos. Measured, calm, and kind. Possibly doubles with a COP. May Understudy

[BEATRICE] – Female - 30’s-40’s - Any ethnicity. She’s the smartest person in the room, with a razor-sharp wit and a true sense of humor. A leading lady in every sense. Has a deep well of love but protects herself from vulnerability with humor and banter. One of the great leading women in Shakespeare’s plays.

[BENEDICK] – Male.-30’s-40’s. Any ethnicity. Recently returned. Intelligent, quick, and extremely funny. Full of wit and charm. Can be reactive when his pride is challenged or hurt. Has an excellent moral compass and is truly loyal. A confirmed bachelor navigating what it means to fall deeply and profoundly in love with his match. One of the great leading men in Shakespeare’s plays.
