If given an appointment, be prepared to read from sides in a British Dialect (R.P. for upper class characters, working class dialect for lower class characters)

SEEKING:

Falstaff:

Male, 60s. A larger than life jovial character. Fancies himself a Don Juan and the life of the party. Robust and full of hot air. Class conscious. Must have great comic ability.

Nym:

Male, 40-50s. Associate of Falstaff with little brain. An easily confused clod. Low class comic character.

Ford:

Male, 40s. Possessive and protective husband of Alice Ford. Has a bravado that covers a deep jealousy and insecurity; neurotic. Solidly Middle Class. Must have great comic ability.

Page:

Male, Late 40s. Genial husband of Margaret Page. Cheerful, confident, and trusting of his wife’s fidelity, but a social climber.

Alice Ford:

Female, Early 40s. Comic leading lady. Gorgeous wife of Mr. Ford, though occasionally too provocative. Newly middle class. Fun loving, mischievous.

Margaret Page:

Female, Late 40s. Comic leading lady. Mischievous wife of Mr. Page. Clever and cunning.

Shallow:

Male, 60s+. A country Justice, upper-class comic character. Has money, but not necessarily the brains.

Slender:

Male, 20s. Scrawny and awkward kinsman of Shallow. Uneasy around women, unsure of himself. Much have comic ability.

Mistress Quickly:

50s, Female. Strong, bawdy, bustling character actress. Puts on airs. A real busybody. Must have great comic ability.

Host:

Male, 40s. Solid, comic straight-man character. Extremely genial and friendly, it is his nature and it is good business. Everybody’s best friend.
